The system cost was around $17 per watt at that time. Over the years, there has been a nearly 97% reduction in the cost of PV systems. Surprisingly, this four-decade-old system still generates electricity for the grid at 75% of its rated capacity, with an annual degradation of 0.6%. Isn’t that remarkable?”
